RK (Radial Keratotomy): How this works.

RK is a surgical procedure to correct mild nearsightedness or astigmatism. RK is performed by making a series of tiny spoke-like scratches onto the cornea to change the curvature. By changing the corneal curvature the rays of light can be focused onto the retina to create sharper vision. These tiny scratches are placed specifically to correct your degree of nearsightedness. Mild eye drops are used to numb the eye for this short, fifteen (15) minute procedure.
